Modstream is hoping to install bars with scrolling displays onto buggies and allow companies to beam in messages wirelessly. The system works by allowing outfits to access a web-based profile, enter in a given message, and transmit the ad to participating stores.

VW’s third version of their Space Up!–the Space Up! blue–is being revealed at the LA Auto Show this weekend. The concept touchscreen monitor “controls all conceivable functions” and is meant to demonstrate how future human-machine interfaces might look and operate. The touchscreen (no mention of multi-touch support) uses proximity sensors to react to gestures, apparently, without actually touching the display. The user can simply touch the “main menu carousel” to navigate to the desired category or manipulate the system with simple hand gestures near the display.

VW announced earlier this week that all new VW models in 2009 will have touchscreens.

No word on whether or not this is an official VW x Apple collab, but that touchscreen display sure does look a helluva lot like Apple’s Cover Flow.

Ghost Face will be releasing a book in collaboration with MTV entitled “The World According to Pretty Tony”. In the past MTV has released a short promo series of Ghost droppin’ knowledge, but this time we get a book with a 20 minute audio CD on how to live that good life.

Dazed and confused after more than 15 hours of travel, unable to communicate in English and scared because he couldn’t find his mother, Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski was jolted by a taser just 24 seconds after being confronted by police in Vancouver International Airport.

CTV reported there was a 12-minute delay before medical help arrived. Mr. Dziekanski died shortly after being tasered — only 10 hours after arriving in the country that was to be his new home.

From the bottom of my heart, let me be the first to say f*ck the police for yet again taking another innocent life in the name of keeping us “safe”.
